You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting about restaurants lately, its mainly due to the fact that I’ve been trying to cut down on calories and all my meals are now home cooked and balanced appropriately. Tonight was a special night for us so I decided to take my weekly cheat meal a little early and headed off to PF Chang’s for dinner.
Fellow blogger B from BNDQ8 is a huge fan of the Shrimp Dynamite and Dumplings so we ordered those for starters. I must say that the shrimp definitely lives up to the hype and each morsel was perfectly cooked and the sauce it was tossed in was really good. We ordered our dumplings pan-fried and they were good too. For drinks we had an Ice Tea Fiesta and a Pomegranate Cosmopolitan.
For our main course we had the Mongolian Beef and Singapore Street style noodles. I loved the beef coz it was real juicy and sliced really thin. The Singapore noodles were so-so and I won’t be ordering that again.
One of the things I’d heard about PF Chang’s was their ‘fake dessert’ platter from which you’d get a visual of the dessert you’re about to order. We thought the Banana spring roll looked interesting in its presentation so we went with that. It was quite a unique dessert, the banana was wrapped in spring roll pastry and fried but it still maintained its firmness and wasn’t mushy. It was served on a plate with a scoop of ice cream in the middle and garnished with strawberries, raspberries and blue berries.I’d give PF Chang’s a 4.5/5 since this is my kind of Chinese food.
Service was excellent and the staff make you feel right at home and pay attention to all your needs. Prices are very reasonable too, our bill was KD 20.700 and we included a generous tip since we were happy with the service. PF Chang’s @ the Avenues Mall, Phone: 22242424 or 22581980
