Here’s a photo heavy post from the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. I’ve been to a few aquariums but this has to be the biggest one I’ve seen so far and even more impressive is that it was opened in 1930!
One of my favorite sets here was the dolphin observation deck. I spent some time patiently watching people on the deck and really liked the dark silhouettes against the blue background. Hope you enjoy them.
As always, you can click on the pictures for a closer look in Flickr or visit the album directly [here]
The government has removed the restrictions on shrimp fishing in time for Eid and there’s plenty of local shrimp in the market now.
The ones in the picture above were 2.500 KD per kilogram. A whole basket goes for around 40 KD.

Just thought I’d update things on the aquarium front, well… nothing much actually, the guys are doing fine. I cleaned the motor and pump tubes thoroughly this time as well as the decorative pieces inside. I just realized its been more than a year since I cleaned the motor and pump assembly but there wasn’t too much sludge inside the mechanism.
As always I added a few drops of the ‘Blue Stuff’ to clean the remaining water in the tank and then filled it up with tap water. By the way here’s my favorite guy of the bunch. I just love it when extends his dorsal fin like that, kinda like a pre-historic water monster. 🙂
