Concours d’Elegance Kuwait

The Prince's Lincoln

I went past Marina Crescent early this morning to check out some of the cars displayed at the Concours d’Elegance. Since I was actually on my way to another urgent appointment I couldn’t spare more than 5 or 10 mins so I spent most of my time at the Aston Martin area. They had some really sweet classics on display including an awesome race model (which I believe is a Zagato body).

There were also some cars owned by royalty on display, they including some the previous Emirs of Kuwait, the King of Jordan and the Prince of Monaco. My time ran out by the time I walked to the end of the crescent so I had to leave the place.

Kuwait International Auto Show 2010

Checked out the auto show at Mishref Fair grounds this evening and the place was jam packed! Obviously dust was not a deterrent to car lovers in Kuwait. The exhibition is open from Dec 12th to 18th at halls 5 to 8. More event details [here]

I spent most of my time looking at the classic cars on display and there were a couple of really nicely restored Trans Ams and GTOs on display and even a Shelby Cobra. Most of the newer cars didn’t grab my attention although I must say the Range Rover Evoque looked awesome and light years ahead of the current boxy design. Also saw the Aston Martin Cygnet (which is based on a Toyota IQ)

Kuwait Riders had a collection of member’s rides and this included a couple of sweet customs, one based on a V-Rod and the other on a Sportster (I think) As I was looking around I saw a familiar logo.. TVS Racing! There were 5 TVS models on display including the flagship Apache RTR 180.
